Which UK airports does Delta fly from?

Delta flies non-stop from London Heathrow Terminal 3 to Atlanta, New York JFK, Boston, Detroit, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City and Seattle. It also flies from Edinburgh to New York and Boston. It doesn't fly from Manchester or Gatwick, but its partner Virgin Atlantic flies from Manchester.

How long is the flight from London to the US with Delta?

Non-stop flights from London Heathrow take about 7.5 hours to Boston, 8 hours to New York, 9 hours to Detroit or Minneapolis, 10 hours to Atlanta or Seattle and 10.5 hours to Salt Lake City. Flights back to London are usually shorter.

What is the Delta baggage allowance from the UK?

Can I choose my seat for free on Delta?

With Main Classic and higher fares, you can choose your seat when you book. With Main Basic, seat selection isn't included: you can pay to choose a seat where available, or you're given one at check-in. Delta Comfort seats, with extra legroom and earlier boarding, cost more.

Is food and Wi-Fi included on Delta flights?

Yes. Every Delta Main fare, even Main Basic, includes a meal on long-haul international flights like those from London. Delta is also rolling out fast, free Wi-Fi across its fleet.

Is Delta part of SkyTeam?

Yes. Delta is a founding member of SkyTeam and owns 49% of Virgin Atlantic, so you can mix flights with both airlines on one trip. You collect SkyMiles on Main Classic and higher fares, but Main Basic fares don't earn miles.

Can I connect to other US cities with Delta?

Yes. Atlanta, Delta's biggest hub and the world's most-travelled airport, connects you to cities across the US, Mexico and the Caribbean on one ticket. At your first US airport, you go through immigration and customs and collect your bags, then drop them again for your next flight.

Do I need an ESTA to fly to the US?

Yes. British citizens visiting the US for a holiday or to see family, for up to 90 days, need an approved ESTA or a US visa before they fly. Apply on the official ESTA website. If your current ESTA doesn't include the selfie photograph US Customs and Border Protection now requires, you may need to apply again, so check your account before you travel.
